MOSCOW, Feb 24 (PRIME) -- Russia should not prolong its agreements with international rating agencies, Deputy Finance Minister Sergei Storchak told reporters Tuesday.
“There is no need to support contract relations with the rating agencies… It is time we stop coddling them,” Storchak said. He said that he did not discuss this idea with the minister.
On February 20, Moody’s downgraded Russia junk, becoming the second agency which did so after Standard & Poor’s. Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that Russia will continue dialogue with all international rating agencies.
